Meet the Therapist
Tran Le, PhD, LPC

Dr. Tran Le is a Licensed Professional Counselor and counselor educator who genuinely loves serving as a therapist and professor. She earned her PhD in Counselor Education along with dual master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling.
Over the years, she’s served as a high school teacher, high school counselor, district crisis counselor, and therapist in a variety of settings. Her work has taken her through school systems, community agencies, private practice, and higher education. She’s supported students from elementary through high school—and now she loves teaching and mentoring graduate counseling students as they prepare to enter the field and make an impact of their own.
Whether she’s working with a client or guiding graduate students, Dr. Le believes growth starts with connection and unfolds through thoughtful support.


Get to Know Dr. Le
Education
Dr. Tran Le earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Texas Tech University. Before that, she completed two Master of Arts degrees in Counseling from The University of Texas Permian Basin—one in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and another in Professional School Counseling. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in English from San Diego State University in 2016, following an Associate of Arts in English from Southwestern College in 2014. With a strong foundation in both counseling and education, Dr. Le brings a well-rounded perspective to her work.
Professional Background
Dr. Tran Le’s counseling experience spans a wide range of settings, from elementary to high school, where she’s supported students with mental health challenges. She’s worked at Insight Counseling, offering one-on-one therapy, and has also served as a high school counselor and teacher in Odessa. Along the way, she’s built her skills through work in private practice and agency settings, including On the Couch Counseling, the Springboard Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment, UTPB Counseling Clinic, and The Crisis Center, where she’s been involved in everything from addiction treatment to crisis intervention.
Licenses and Certification
Dr. Tran Le is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council. Additionally, Dr. Le is certified by the State Board for Educator Certification in Texas, with valid Texas Educator Certificates in English Language Arts and Reading (Grades 7-12) and School Counseling (Early Childhood - Grade 12). These licensure and certifications reflect Dr. Le’s commitment to providing expert counseling services and education support across a wide range of student age groups and academic levels.
Leadership and Service
Dr. Tran Le has made a real impact in counseling and education. She’s been a dedicated leader with the Permian Basin Counseling Association (PBCA), supporting the development of counselors in the region. She’s also been a part of leadership at Texas Tech University’s Advocacy and Social Justice Leadership Mini-Conference, taking on roles like Conference Coordinator. Dr. Le has shared her insights at conferences such as the Texas Counselor Association and ACES, and she’s gained leadership experience with organizations like the National Math + Science Initiative. She’s active in several honorary societies and co-founded the Falcons Counseling Honor Society to build community and professional development in counseling.
