Helpful Information
1 / What can I expect during my first therapy session?
It’s totally normal to feel a little nervous about your first session—starting something new can be scary, but we’re here to make you feel as comfortable and supported as possible.
We’ll get to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy and what you’d like to work on. We’ll also make sure you have a chance to ask any questions you may have.
During this session, we’ll also go over the important details about how therapy works, such as confidentiality and what you can expect from our sessions. This ensures that you’re clear on everything and feel comfortable with the process as we move forward.
2 / Does Reflective Space Counseling and Consulting PLLC offer in-person therapy?
We provide therapy through secure video calls — kind of like FaceTime, but on a private, HIPAA-compliant platform. We do not offer in-person sessions, but don’t worry! Many of our clients are surprised at just how connected they feel — screens don’t get in the way of real connection here.
3 / How much do therapy sessions cost?
Our 50-minute individual therapy sessions cost $160. We believe in transparent pricing so you know exactly what to expect. View our Pricing page for more information.
3 / Does Reflective Space Counseling and Consulting PLLC accept insurance?
Yes! We’re in-network with several insurance providers, including:
-
Aetna
-
Anthem EAP - Bank of America
-
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts
-
Carelon Behavioral Health
-
Cigna
-
Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey
-
Independence Blue Cross Pennsylvania
-
Quest Behavioral Health
Out of network? No problem! We can provide you with a superbill (that’s a fancy term for an itemized receipt) that you can send to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
4 / Do you prescribe medications?
We don’t prescribe medications, but if you and your therapist feel it would be helpful, we’re happy to connect you with a trusted psychiatrist for an evaluation. Here at Reflective Space, we focus on providing talk therapy, while psychiatrists handle assessments and prescriptions.
5 / How often will I have therapy sessions?
Most clients see their therapist once a week or once every other week. As you start feeling stronger and reaching your goals, you might decide to space sessions out to once a month. We’ll work together to find the rhythm that fits your life best!
6 / How long will I need to be in therapy?
Everyone’s journey looks a little different! Factors like your goals, your engagement during sessions, and how much you’re able to practice new skills outside of therapy all play a role. That said, many of our clients start noticing improvements in anxiety, mood, and relationships within 10–15 sessions. We’ll set goals together and regularly check in to make sure you’re feeling good about your progress.
7 / Do you work with children?
We work with clients age 13 and older. Our sweet spot is working with teens and adults who are motivated to work on their mental health. If your child or teen is hesitant to engage, they might be better suited for an in-person therapist who offers play therapy or expressive arts therapy.
8 / Do you offer couples therapy?
We currently don't offer couples therapy. However, if it would support your progress, your partner is welcome to join a session occasionally — with guidance from your therapist and your approval.
9 / Do you offer family therapy?
We don’t offer traditional family therapy at this time. However, if it would be helpful for your progress, family members can join a session here and there with your therapist’s guidance and your approval.
10 / How do I get started?
